Academics + Enrichment

Handwriting without Tears & Get Set for School

Language Arts Program is a kinesthetic, multi-modal approach to learning all aspects of language arts; including vocabulary development and articulation, based on phonics and phonemic awareness. Get Set for School maximizes understanding, memory, utilization and transference to all areas of the reading, spelling and writing process in a playful and concrete manner.

Baila Baila Spanish Class

Join Ms. Liz Serrano everyday as she finds incredibly fun ways of allowing your child to have a great first exposure to Spanish while singing along, playing games, making creative activities and dancing to fun “Espanol” songs. Baila Baila is part of our set curriculum!

Juice & Canvas

Sip, sip, HOORAY! Get ready to be amazed with your little artist. Each week your child will be introduced to a specific artist and their painting where they will get the opportunity to make their own version of the painting. Each child will be given an easel, some paint, and a juice box to enjoy while they paint. They will learn about a specific artist and painting each week, resulting in an art show at the end of our journey.

Let’s Jam

Let’s Jam!! Taps, claps, drums, sticks, shakers, bells and scarves help children see and feel rhythm while learning to make music! Their bodies become a drum-set and their voices a synthesizer. They play musical games to find their own rhythm and pitch. Includes playing, dancing and singing all kinds of music from all over the world.

Emergency Preparedness

Being prepared is smart! Every month we conduct practice Fire Drills, Lockdown and Earthquake Drills. These drills help the children understand how to properly evacuate our building in case of an emergency, and include various safety techniques to use in an emergency situation. Once a year we invite our local fire department to come and visit to discuss the importance of public safety. The kids absolutely adore getting to see the BIG Red Truck!

Sign Language

Teachers help children explore a different way of communicating with their hands. When children learn to sign in ASL (American Sign Language), they are learning another language, including how to express themselves using their eyes, face, head and body movements.

Word of the Month

Conflict resolution is something we actively promote here at Bethlehem on a daily basis. We start by introducing problem solving language to young minds. Each month we highlight a different word and introduce children to its meaning. When they have a better understanding of what positive words mean and how to use them they can formulate different tools to apply to their everyday lives.
